Narrative:

I was coming out of FBO via taxiway left, which is straight out. I switched over to tower and informed them I was ready in sequence. There was a citation sitting on the runway. Tower cleared him for takeoff. They then told me there was a citation on takeoff roll, cleared for takeoff. I informed them I had the traffic, 'cleared to go.' I entered the runway, came up with power and started my takeoff roll. The citation was airborne with the gear coming up by now. I rotated and brought my gear up. Tower then informed me to 'turn to heading 200 degrees, cleared for takeoff.' I told them the gear was in the well, I'm airborne. They then told me that I was only cleared into 'position and hold, but no big deal, contact departure.' I contacted departure and asked for a phone number and asked them to save the tape, that I had a problem coming off okc. They asked me the nature of the problem. I told them and proceeded to wur (home base) with no more problems. We landed and called approach. Informed them who I was, and the guy on the phone told me no big deal, no aircraft were in my way and I created no problems, so don't worry about it. I asked him if he had listened to the tape. He said yes and that I was only cleared into position and hold. I then talked to an FSDO supervisor, told him about it and requested a NASA report. (I'm also a part 135 operator and have a good working relationship with my FSDO.) I still maintain that I was cleared for takeoff and not just into position and hold. I repeated my clearance and was not corrected nor stopped by ATC.

Title: CGA CPR PLT HEARS 'CLRED FOR TKOF' WHEN ATC CLRS ACFT INTO POS AND HOLD. LATER CONVERSATION BTWN PLT AND TWR ESTABLISHES THAT PLT WAS TOLD TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. PLT DOES NOT AGREE WITH TWR SUPVR.

Narrative: I WAS COMING OUT OF FBO VIA TXWY L, WHICH IS STRAIGHT OUT. I SWITCHED OVER TO TWR AND INFORMED THEM I WAS READY IN SEQUENCE. THERE WAS A CITATION SITTING ON THE RWY. TWR CLRED HIM FOR TKOF. THEY THEN TOLD ME THERE WAS A CITATION ON TKOF ROLL, CLRED FOR TKOF. I INFORMED THEM I HAD THE TFC, 'CLRED TO GO.' I ENTERED THE RWY, CAME UP WITH PWR AND STARTED MY TKOF ROLL. THE CITATION WAS AIRBORNE WITH THE GEAR COMING UP BY NOW. I ROTATED AND BROUGHT MY GEAR UP. TWR THEN INFORMED ME TO 'TURN TO HDG 200 DEGS, CLRED FOR TKOF.' I TOLD THEM THE GEAR WAS IN THE WELL, I'M AIRBORNE. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT I WAS ONLY CLRED INTO 'POS AND HOLD, BUT NO BIG DEAL, CONTACT DEP.' I CONTACTED DEP AND ASKED FOR A PHONE NUMBER AND ASKED THEM TO SAVE THE TAPE, THAT I HAD A PROB COMING OFF OKC. THEY ASKED ME THE NATURE OF THE PROB. I TOLD THEM AND PROCEEDED TO WUR (HOME BASE) WITH NO MORE PROBS. WE LANDED AND CALLED APCH. INFORMED THEM WHO I WAS, AND THE GUY ON THE PHONE TOLD ME NO BIG DEAL, NO ACFT WERE IN MY WAY AND I CREATED NO PROBS, SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD LISTENED TO THE TAPE. HE SAID YES AND THAT I WAS ONLY CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD. I THEN TALKED TO AN FSDO SUPVR, TOLD HIM ABOUT IT AND REQUESTED A NASA RPT. (I'M ALSO A PART 135 OPERATOR AND HAVE A GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH MY FSDO.) I STILL MAINTAIN THAT I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF AND NOT JUST INTO POS AND HOLD. I REPEATED MY CLRNC AND WAS NOT CORRECTED NOR STOPPED BY ATC.
