Pilot of a beech king air F90 experienced altimeter failure after takeoff causing the encoding display to ATC radar to show excessively low altitude. When ATC inquired reporter's altitude he explained that altimeter had failed and then continued to destination where the flight data computer was replaced.

Narrative:

On departure at 1000 ft, the captain's altimeter spun down to 100 ft. The controller asked altitude and I explained what happened. I turned off the encoder and flew 2 hours to fty. Maintenance replaced the air data computer.
