Narrative:

Being vectored for visual approach to runway 34. TCASII RA issued at 5000 ft MSL 8 NM southeast avl. RA indicated 11 O'clock position, less than 1 mi and 400 ft low. Executed TCASII commands, informed ATC, never got a visual on traffic. The controller seemed to be aware of this traffic and said he would speak with the pilot.

Narrative: BEING VECTORED FOR VISUAL APCH TO RWY 34. TCASII RA ISSUED AT 5000 FT MSL 8 NM SE AVL. RA INDICATED 11 O'CLOCK POS, LESS THAN 1 MI AND 400 FT LOW. EXECUTED TCASII COMMANDS, INFORMED ATC, NEVER GOT A VISUAL ON TFC. THE CTLR SEEMED TO BE AWARE OF THIS TFC AND SAID HE WOULD SPEAK WITH THE PLT.
