Narrative:
It was brought to my attention oct/xd/98 that on oct/xa/98 I had signed off a jackscrew lubrication task for aircraft xyz. It was explained to me that later on in another city that there was a problem with the performance of the jackscrew, whereupon inspection, a rag was found wrapped around the jackscrew. I was also told a can of agent and a brush were also found. I performed the jackscrew lube task and exited the jackscrew area taking my equipment with me, namely a grease gun. I did not see any other items in the area, and did not see any other personnel in or around the area. I left the door open as I know that there are several more tasks performed in and around the jackscrew area and the aircraft was down for 14-16 more hours until gate time.
