Narrative:

We were experiencing lengthy delays in getting an IFR departure, so opted to depart VFR and pick up an IFR clearance airborne. The control tower gave us a new transponder code and cleared us on course with the takeoff clearance. I mistakenly took this as a clearance into the class B TCA airspace. After climbing too high, was told I didn't have proper clearance and I then descended to an appropriate altitude. Frankly, I rushed myself due to passenger pressure and should have clarified the clearance prior to departure.

Title: A CPR ATX ACFT DEPARTING TEB VFR CLBS INTO THE N90 TCA CLASS B WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: WE WERE EXPERIENCING LENGTHY DELAYS IN GETTING AN IFR DEP, SO OPTED TO DEPART VFR AND PICK UP AN IFR CLRNC AIRBORNE. THE CTL TWR GAVE US A NEW XPONDER CODE AND CLRED US ON COURSE WITH THE TKOF CLRNC. I MISTAKENLY TOOK THIS AS A CLRNC INTO THE CLASS B TCA AIRSPACE. AFTER CLBING TOO HIGH, WAS TOLD I DIDN'T HAVE PROPER CLRNC AND I THEN DSNDED TO AN APPROPRIATE ALT. FRANKLY, I RUSHED MYSELF DUE TO PAX PRESSURE AND SHOULD HAVE CLARIFIED THE CLRNC PRIOR TO DEP.
