Narrative:

On takeoff on flight from lax to hong kong, the flying first officer switched radio frequencys from the lax tower to departure control immediately after takeoff, and without first getting permission from the tower. As we climbed through about 3000 ft, departure control asked that we call the lax tower supervisor. We did, whereupon the matter was discussed. To the best of my knowledge, nothing further came of this.
