Narrative:

On landing at gdl on runway 28 in light to moderate rain showers, the aircraft drifted 'hard' to left of centerline causing the left main to depart the runway. The nose gear collapsed after contacting the left runway edge lights. The aircraft came to a stop with the nose on the runway edge lights, the left mains off the runway and the right mains on the runway. An orderly egress out of the forward galley door was performed with no injuries reported by passenger or crew. Supplemental information from acn 414752: approach and touchdown were normal with only minor fluctuation in airspeed and only light chop on the approach. Touchdown occurred approximately 1500 ft down the runway. After a few seconds, the aircraft started drifting left. First officer was flying aircraft at time. This was verbally communicated to first officer and he tried to correct. With drift continuing, I (captain) tried putting inputs in (rudder, brakes, nosewheel steering) but drift continued. Aircraft heading did not appear to change and aircraft nose gear collapsed and stopped with left main off runway edge and nose and right main on runway.

Title: A B737-500 LANDS AT GDL, FO, AND DRIFTS OFF THE SIDE OF THE RWY, RESULTING IN A COLLAPSED NOSE GEAR.

Narrative: ON LNDG AT GDL ON RWY 28 IN LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN SHOWERS, THE ACFT DRIFTED 'HARD' TO L OF CTRLINE CAUSING THE L MAIN TO DEPART THE RWY. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER CONTACTING THE L RWY EDGE LIGHTS. THE ACFT CAME TO A STOP WITH THE NOSE ON THE RWY EDGE LIGHTS, THE L MAINS OFF THE RWY AND THE R MAINS ON THE RWY. AN ORDERLY EGRESS OUT OF THE FORWARD GALLEY DOOR WAS PERFORMED WITH NO INJURIES RPTED BY PAX OR CREW. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 414752: APCH AND TOUCHDOWN WERE NORMAL WITH ONLY MINOR FLUCTUATION IN AIRSPD AND ONLY LIGHT CHOP ON THE APCH. TOUCHDOWN OCCURRED APPROX 1500 FT DOWN THE RWY. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE ACFT STARTED DRIFTING L. FO WAS FLYING ACFT AT TIME. THIS WAS VERBALLY COMMUNICATED TO FO AND HE TRIED TO CORRECT. WITH DRIFT CONTINUING, I (CAPT) TRIED PUTTING INPUTS IN (RUDDER, BRAKES, NOSEWHEEL STEERING) BUT DRIFT CONTINUED. ACFT HDG DID NOT APPEAR TO CHANGE AND ACFT NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND STOPPED WITH L MAIN OFF RWY EDGE AND NOSE AND R MAIN ON RWY.
