Narrative:

Passenger misconduct: 5 people traveling together (1 adult woman, 1 high school age girl, 3 children ages 5-10). These passenger boarded in kin for through-flight to mbj then jfk. They were assigned seats F,a,F,F,B, which were not together. They took seats D,F,G,H,J, which were together. They were asked in kin to show flight attendant boarding passes. They refused, told flight attendants it's none of her business, they being mother and daughter (?) who took seats H,J. Refused to move to assigned seats. Disruptive during boarding of passenger in kin and mbj since this family (?) had taken 4 seats assigned to other passenger. In mbj asked ground agents to move family. They did not move. Passenger were again disruptive to flight as other passenger came for seats they were sitting in. Mother was told if she and her group did not move to original assigned seats they would be removed and have to fly tomorrow. Mother was asked to come up to front. Captain and flight attendants had words with mother and daughter who still refused to cooperate. Captain called for jamaican police, since airport security refused or could not remove passenger group. Police arrived, passenger group still refused to leave aircraft. It took police (3-4 officers) approximately 10 mins to get them off. Did not observe this conversation. As a crew, we have concerns that mbj security and/or agents do not take passenger misconduct serious at all. And would prefer to rid themselves of problem as quickly as possible, not understanding that we may have hours more in the air with passenger who continue to be abusive to us and disruptive to all passenger. This flight was delayed in departure about 1 hour due to this incident.
