Narrative:

Acceptance of hazmat. We accepted more dry ice in one compartment than is allowed. 196 KG of dry ice was loaded in a belly compartment that only allows 136 KG. When the hazmat paperwork was presented in the cockpit, 2 mechanics had just come in to check an aircraft write-up. A very busy time. The hazmat paperwork shows compartment totals, but is for all aircraft and must be carefully compared. We were informed of the error en route and continued to destination with no problems.
