Narrative:

I had filed IFR from fdk to pah. I had requested fdk direct mrb direct pah. The clearance I received was after takeoff fly 070 degrees radar vectors to V44 mrb V166 esl V4 hyk V178 ewo V5 bwg direct pah. Climb to 3000 ft, expect 8000 ft 10 mins after departure. Squawk XXXX, frequency 125.52. After takeoff, my #1 communication could not raise departure. I tried several times and in the turbulence (light to moderate), I was distraction and made a standard departure from the pattern and headed for V44. When the controller finally responded, he advised me that my clearance said to fly 070 degrees and expect radar vectors.
