Narrative:

I was practicing simulated engine out emergency and approached a field down to 500 ft AGL. At the time I thought this would be considered a non congested area. When I arrived at the airport, I was informed that 3 individuals called in my n-number for low altitude flight. I have reviewed this occurrence and now know that 1000 ft AGL should have been my lowest altitude.
