Narrative:

Loss of throttle control resulting in declaring emergency. Landed using mixture control to control power. No damage, no injuries, blocked runway due power off landing. Aircraft towed to maintenance facility. Found throttle linkage bolt missing. No connection between control and carburetor. Maintenance a&P looked up parts, properly installed. I inspected his work, moved throttle throughout range, did full power runup and accepted aircraft back to service. A&P informed me, due to after hours, he would forward paperwork to home base next morning. He verbally returned aircraft to service. I departed on an uneventful return flight to home field, passenger had deplaned. In retrospect, I should have demanded a written maintenance release prior to accepting aircraft.
