Narrative:

I was the PNF on a straight in visual approach to ege runway 25. We contacted ege tower about 10 mi out. We were told to report a 5 mi final. As far as I can remember we did and were cleared to land. As we were rolling out the tower instructed us to turn left, taxi to the ramp and stay on tower frequency. 2 days later I was informed that the tower claims we didn't report 5 mi nor were cleared to land. They say they didn't see us until we were rolling out. There was no other traffic at the time. If they hadn't heard from us why didn't they question our position? If they didn't see us until we were rolling out obviously they weren't looking out the window as required by the .65. It was the first officer's first time into this mountainous airport and I was pointing things out to him so we were being extra vigilant.

Narrative: I WAS THE PNF ON A STRAIGHT IN VISUAL APCH TO EGE RWY 25. WE CONTACTED EGE TWR ABOUT 10 MI OUT. WE WERE TOLD TO RPT A 5 MI FINAL. AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER WE DID AND WERE CLRED TO LAND. AS WE WERE ROLLING OUT THE TWR INSTRUCTED US TO TURN L, TAXI TO THE RAMP AND STAY ON TWR FREQ. 2 DAYS LATER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TWR CLAIMS WE DIDN'T RPT 5 MI NOR WERE CLRED TO LAND. THEY SAY THEY DIDN'T SEE US UNTIL WE WERE ROLLING OUT. THERE WAS NO OTHER TFC AT THE TIME. IF THEY HADN'T HEARD FROM US WHY DIDN'T THEY QUESTION OUR POS? IF THEY DIDN'T SEE US UNTIL WE WERE ROLLING OUT OBVIOUSLY THEY WEREN'T LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW AS REQUIRED BY THE .65.
