Narrative:
Missed a crossing restr of 8 mi north of lwm at 5000 ft. Lack of sufficient descent rate for amount of altitude needed to lose caused first officer to not plan appropriately. I brought it to his attention too late and rather than do some rapid rate of descent to make restr, we just reported it.

Narrative: MISSED A XING RESTR OF 8 MI N OF LWM AT 5000 FT. LACK OF SUFFICIENT DSCNT RATE FOR AMOUNT OF ALT NEEDED TO LOSE CAUSED FO TO NOT PLAN APPROPRIATELY. I BROUGHT IT TO HIS ATTN TOO LATE AND RATHER THAN DO SOME RAPID RATE OF DSCNT TO MAKE RESTR, WE JUST RPTED IT.
