Narrative:

Approaching rap airport from the north, talking to ellsworth approach control. I was told to turn to a 270 degree heading for traffic. This positioned me on a left downwind in ellsworth AFB traffic pattern. I was then told to turn and intercept the final for runway 14 which rap was using at the time. Turning the turn I realized I was crossing the southeast end of ellsworth's runway. Approach control said nothing nor did tower. I should have asked or verified approval to pass through ellsworth class D airspace. I normally fly B767 for an air carrier and was not thinking VFR and radar advisories versus IFR when all is done for you.

Title: SMA PLT, ON VECTORS WITH MIL APCH CTL FACILITY, INCORRECTLY ASSUMES THAT HE MUST COORD WITH ADJOINING ARPT TWR BECAUSE THE MIL APCH CTL HAS VECTORED HIM BY ANOTHER ARPT NOT OF INTENDED LNDG.

Narrative: APCHING RAP ARPT FROM THE N, TALKING TO ELLSWORTH APCH CTL. I WAS TOLD TO TURN TO A 270 DEG HDG FOR TFC. THIS POSITIONED ME ON A L DOWNWIND IN ELLSWORTH AFB TFC PATTERN. I WAS THEN TOLD TO TURN AND INTERCEPT THE FINAL FOR RWY 14 WHICH RAP WAS USING AT THE TIME. TURNING THE TURN I REALIZED I WAS XING THE SE END OF ELLSWORTH'S RWY. APCH CTL SAID NOTHING NOR DID TWR. I SHOULD HAVE ASKED OR VERIFIED APPROVAL TO PASS THROUGH ELLSWORTH CLASS D AIRSPACE. I NORMALLY FLY B767 FOR AN ACR AND WAS NOT THINKING VFR AND RADAR ADVISORIES VERSUS IFR WHEN ALL IS DONE FOR YOU.
