Narrative:

Taxiing out for departure in mke we were coordinating a rerouting for WX on VHF #2 with clearance delivery and using VHF #1 for ground, tower communication. We were trying to expedite departure for a line of WX approaching from the west. Tower cleared us out of a holding area 'up to hold short of runway 19R.' I heard mentally on to hold runway 19R. My first officer said as we approached the hold short line 'I think they said hold short.' I immediately stopped but felt we might have taxied over the hold short line so we notified tower immediately. I feel working 2 frequencys simultaneously contributed, along with the sense of urgency to depart prior to the arrival of thunderstorm activity.

Title: CAPT OF AN ACR MLG CROSSED THE RWY HOLD SHORT LINE BEFORE HOLDING SHORT OF THE ASSIGNED RWY DUE TO MISINTERP OF TAXI CLRNC IN WHICH HE BELIEVED THAT HE WAS CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD. THE FO REMINDED HIM OF HOLDING SHORT OF THE RWY TO WHICH HE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ACFT.

MY FO SAID AS WE APCHED THE HOLD SHORT LINE 'I THINK THEY SAID HOLD SHORT.' I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED BUT FELT WE MIGHT HAVE TAXIED OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE SO WE NOTIFIED TWR IMMEDIATELY. I FEEL WORKING 2 FREQS SIMULTANEOUSLY CONTRIBUTED, ALONG WITH THE SENSE OF URGENCY TO DEPART PRIOR TO THE ARR OF TSTM ACTIVITY.
