Narrative:

On approach to landing I experienced a landing gear unsafe condition. After complying with the checklist I requested crash fire rescue equipment standing by for landing. I landed the aircraft without incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the maintenance manager advised the reporter the landing gear problem was an indicator failure and not mechanical. The reporter said it may have been a gear position sensor failure or sensor out of adjustment. However, the position or gear location was unknown.
