Narrative:

After being clear for ILS runway 18R at cvg and arming the approach mode on autoplt, apparently the mode control deactivated and defaulted to heading mode. Did not notice until flying through the localizer. Autoplt was disconnected and we turned back to the runway 18R localizer. No conflict with traffic was noted.
