Flight stl-iah, loud air noise on takeoff, returned to stl. Found electrical compartment door, plug type not latched and warning light inoperative with door not latched. Light tested ok. Appropriate actions completed by maintenance and aircraft continued to iah without further incidence. Captain irregularity report on file.

Narrative: FLT STL-IAH, LOUD AIR NOISE ON TKOF, RETURNED TO STL. FOUND ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT DOOR, PLUG TYPE NOT LATCHED AND WARNING LIGHT INOP WITH DOOR NOT LATCHED. LIGHT TESTED OK. APPROPRIATE ACTIONS COMPLETED BY MAINT AND ACFT CONTINUED TO IAH WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENCE. CAPT IRREGULARITY RPT ON FILE.
