Narrative:

This incident occurred during the flight planning phase for a flight from santiago, chile (scl), to dallas, ft worth (dfw). The duration of the flight was 9 hours 36 mins. An oversight occurred on my part as well as the dispatcher since there was no destination alternate designated for this flight which was over 6 hours. Arrival fuel was 27000 pounds with VFR conditions forecast. Supplemental information from acn 407590: the relieving dispatcher caught the error and was able to add one prior to the flight landing.

Title: ACR WDB DISPATCHED FOR OVER 6 HR FLT WITHOUT AN ALTERNATE. DISPATCH CAUGHT THE MISTAKE AND PROVIDED AN ALTERNATE PRIOR TO LNDG AT DEST.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 407590: THE RELIEVING DISPATCHER CAUGHT THE ERROR AND WAS ABLE TO ADD ONE PRIOR TO THE FLT LNDG.
