Narrative:

First officer flying, captain on radio. Descending for approach into sna. Cleared to cross kayoh at 8000 ft. Then cleared to cross kayoh at 7000 ft and descend on east side 3 arrival. Did cross kayoh at 190 KTS, 7000 ft. Approach control asked if we would accept a visual and pointed out a B737 we would follow. Replied affirmative to visual and that we had the B737 and the airport in sight. Given vector of approximately 240 degrees to intercept final. Final course intercepted approximately 1/2 mi outside lemon and above GS 2 dots. Aircraft was configured for landing and slowed to capture GS between 2000-3000 ft AGL. After approach confign at approximately 1400 ft AGL, 155 KTS, autothrottles advanced abruptly and were disconnected. GS captured approximately 500 ft AGL in stabilized confign. Crossed runway threshold approximately 2 dots low. While on tower frequency, received following TA's: 1) right traffic for runway 19R to land between B737 and us. Did not see until after it landed and was taxiing clear the runway. 2) 2 aircraft in left traffic for runway 19L. Advised no contact. We were then advised they would pass behind us. Later I saw high wing cessna type paralleling our course, slightly high and slightly above us. Do not recall our altitude but believe it to be below 500 ft AGL. My attention was divided between monitoring our approach traffic for our runway, and monitoring our approach. Note: our aircraft alignment to the runway on final and touchdown did not verify reported wind of 230 degrees at 14 KTS, but more aligned with runway. Supplemental information from acn 407196: small aircraft arrival light GA crash on airport jun/xa/98.

Title: B757 CREW HAD A TYPICAL APCH TO SNA IN A HIGH DENSITY TFC ENVIRONMENT.

Narrative: FO FLYING, CAPT ON RADIO. DSNDING FOR APCH INTO SNA. CLRED TO CROSS KAYOH AT 8000 FT. THEN CLRED TO CROSS KAYOH AT 7000 FT AND DSND ON EAST SIDE 3 ARR. DID CROSS KAYOH AT 190 KTS, 7000 FT. APCH CTL ASKED IF WE WOULD ACCEPT A VISUAL AND POINTED OUT A B737 WE WOULD FOLLOW. REPLIED AFFIRMATIVE TO VISUAL AND THAT WE HAD THE B737 AND THE ARPT IN SIGHT. GIVEN VECTOR OF APPROX 240 DEGS TO INTERCEPT FINAL. FINAL COURSE INTERCEPTED APPROX 1/2 MI OUTSIDE LEMON AND ABOVE GS 2 DOTS. ACFT WAS CONFIGURED FOR LNDG AND SLOWED TO CAPTURE GS BTWN 2000-3000 FT AGL. AFTER APCH CONFIGN AT APPROX 1400 FT AGL, 155 KTS, AUTOTHROTTLES ADVANCED ABRUPTLY AND WERE DISCONNECTED. GS CAPTURED APPROX 500 FT AGL IN STABILIZED CONFIGN. CROSSED RWY THRESHOLD APPROX 2 DOTS LOW. WHILE ON TWR FREQ, RECEIVED FOLLOWING TA'S: 1) R TFC FOR RWY 19R TO LAND BTWN B737 AND US. DID NOT SEE UNTIL AFTER IT LANDED AND WAS TAXIING CLR THE RWY. 2) 2 ACFT IN L TFC FOR RWY 19L. ADVISED NO CONTACT. WE WERE THEN ADVISED THEY WOULD PASS BEHIND US. LATER I SAW HIGH WING CESSNA TYPE PARALLELING OUR COURSE, SLIGHTLY HIGH AND SLIGHTLY ABOVE US. DO NOT RECALL OUR ALT BUT BELIEVE IT TO BE BELOW 500 FT AGL. MY ATTN WAS DIVIDED BTWN MONITORING OUR APCH TFC FOR OUR RWY, AND MONITORING OUR APCH. NOTE: OUR ACFT ALIGNMENT TO THE RWY ON FINAL AND TOUCHDOWN DID NOT VERIFY RPTED WIND OF 230 DEGS AT 14 KTS, BUT MORE ALIGNED WITH RWY.
