Narrative:

Landing runway 27R at mia. Into the flare, I saw a large cloud of dirt and debris blow across the runway from the south and saw an MD11 pointing south in the area of taxiway M6. I commanded a go around. The first officer did a great job. As we entered the turbulence of the MD11's jet blast, we momentarily touched down. Continued go around, returned to mia for uneventful landing. I expressed my concerns and seriousness of situation to ATC via radio and phone of having a large airplane and its jet blast so close to the approach end of the runway. The MD11 was returning to the gate and he pwred up T0 move the airplane and we ended up in his resulting jet blast. Any time a large aircraft is 90 degrees that close to the runway, we should not be landing on that runway. We were never informed by ATC of the close proximity of the MD11 to runway 27R. This is truly a recipe for disaster, especially at night when you cannot see or expect to be hit by someone's jet blast.

Title: MD80 TOUCHING DOWN MAKES GAR AT MIA DUE TO JET BLAST FROM AN MD11 TAXIING S NEAR THE APCH END OF THE ACTIVE RWY.

Narrative: LNDG RWY 27R AT MIA. INTO THE FLARE, I SAW A LARGE CLOUD OF DIRT AND DEBRIS BLOW ACROSS THE RWY FROM THE S AND SAW AN MD11 POINTING S IN THE AREA OF TXWY M6. I COMMANDED A GAR. THE MD11 WAS RETURNING TO THE GATE AND HE PWRED UP T0 MOVE THE AIRPLANE AND WE ENDED UP IN HIS RESULTING JET BLAST. ANY TIME A LARGE ACFT IS 90 DEGS THAT CLOSE TO THE RWY, WE SHOULD NOT BE LNDG ON THAT RWY. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED BY ATC OF THE CLOSE PROX OF THE MD11 TO RWY 27R. THIS IS TRULY A RECIPE FOR DISASTER, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT WHEN YOU CANNOT SEE OR EXPECT TO BE HIT BY SOMEONE'S JET BLAST.
