Narrative:

Heatt 5 arrival into mia states expect clearance to cross heatt at 11000 ft when landing west. We both heard clearance to 13000 ft, but didn't recall receiving clearance to cross heatt at 11000 ft. Upon crossing heatt at 13000 ft, we asked approach control to confirm our altitude assignment. ATC responded 11000 ft. We didn't know if he had given us 11000 ft previously and we missed it or was giving us 11000 ft for the first time when we asked to confirm our altitude assignment.

Title: FLC OF A B737-300 HEARD, RECORDED AND CROSSED FIX AT THE ALT THAT THEY BELIEVED ASSIGNED. AFTER QUESTIONING ATC IF ALT WAS CORRECT SINCE IT WAS DIFFERENT THAN SHOWN EXPECTED ON THE STAR ARR, CTLR SAID THAT IT WAS THE ALT EXPECTED. THIS LEFT THE CREW WONDERING IF THE CTLR HAD JUST GIVEN THEM THE EXPECTED ALT OR GIVEN IT ORIGINALLY.
