Narrative:

Ramper forgot to close fuel door (refueling electrical panel door). And myself as first officer did not do a final check to assure security. I'm relatively new to this type operation, so therefore my preflight is somewhat still not totally integrated as I would like it. I have decided to do an initial preflight, then set up the flight deck, and then return to the tarmac to rechk security after refueling operation. If fuel amount on the gauges would indicate that airplane has been refueled already, I may omit second security preflight.
