Narrative:

A lot of chatter on ground frequency about emergency vehicles moving around aircraft. No emergency was in progress. From position and hold on runway 17L tower cleared our B757 for takeoff departure heading 065 degrees. Captain PF, first officer PNF. At 70 KIAS PF said 'oh, this should be interesting.' PNF said 'what's that?' no further comment until 120 KIAS when tower asked 'is that vehicle clear of the runway?' I responded (PNF) 'yes he is.' it was at this time I saw the vehicle in question for the first time. Along the right side of the runway was an emergency vehicle in a hard left turn attempting to clear the shoulder onto the grass. His red anti-collision lights were on and was about 1000 ft in front of us. I never felt 'in danger.' the vehicle was well clear when I saw him. I believe the captain saw him much earlier but his only indication of this was his 'this could be interesting' comment. I explained to my captain I wish he would have informed me of the vehicle earlier. Perhaps my question could have been more direct, ie, 'what should be interesting?' instead of 'what's that?' the captain expressed some concern to tower as we departed. He was instructed to phone denver tower as they were trying to determine how close to the runway the vehicle came.

Narrative: A LOT OF CHATTER ON GND FREQ ABOUT EMER VEHICLES MOVING AROUND ACFT. NO EMER WAS IN PROGRESS. FROM POS AND HOLD ON RWY 17L TWR CLRED OUR B757 FOR TKOF DEP HDG 065 DEGS. CAPT PF, FO PNF. AT 70 KIAS PF SAID 'OH, THIS SHOULD BE INTERESTING.' PNF SAID 'WHAT'S THAT?' NO FURTHER COMMENT UNTIL 120 KIAS WHEN TWR ASKED 'IS THAT VEHICLE CLR OF THE RWY?' I RESPONDED (PNF) 'YES HE IS.' IT WAS AT THIS TIME I SAW THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION FOR THE FIRST TIME. ALONG THE R SIDE OF THE RWY WAS AN EMER VEHICLE IN A HARD L TURN ATTEMPTING TO CLR THE SHOULDER ONTO THE GRASS. HIS RED ANTI-COLLISION LIGHTS WERE ON AND WAS ABOUT 1000 FT IN FRONT OF US. I NEVER FELT 'IN DANGER.' THE VEHICLE WAS WELL CLR WHEN I SAW HIM. I BELIEVE THE CAPT SAW HIM MUCH EARLIER BUT HIS ONLY INDICATION OF THIS WAS HIS 'THIS COULD BE INTERESTING' COMMENT. I EXPLAINED TO MY CAPT I WISH HE WOULD HAVE INFORMED ME OF THE VEHICLE EARLIER. PERHAPS MY QUESTION COULD HAVE BEEN MORE DIRECT, IE, 'WHAT SHOULD BE INTERESTING?' INSTEAD OF 'WHAT'S THAT?' THE CAPT EXPRESSED SOME CONCERN TO TWR AS WE DEPARTED. HE WAS INSTRUCTED TO PHONE DENVER TWR AS THEY WERE TRYING TO DETERMINE HOW CLOSE TO THE RWY THE VEHICLE CAME.
