Narrative:

On ground, ground control gave us instruction to taxi to runway 1L via taxiway a to hold short of taxiway H. We taxied on taxiway a but went too far, failing to hold short of taxiway H. The ground control saw what happened and told us to turn off of taxiway a and taxi to holding area clear of taxiway H. We did as he said and that was end of the situation. I believe the cause of the error was due to misunderstanding the controller's instruction primarily because of fatigue. We should have read back instructions so both controller and crew were clearly aware of instructions.
