Narrative:

Prior to starting the APU ground personnel reported that we had a fire in the APU area. We had no indications of fire. I placed the APU fire control to 'off and agent arm' and turned off all fuel pumps. Ground personnel then reported that there were no further indications of fire. No fire bottles were discharged. Passenger were deplaned through the forward entry door. Maintenance checked the APU and could not find any evidence of a fire. APU started and ran normally.
