Narrative:

ZNY issued a frequency change to 127.17. Both of us wrote it down that way. I made several attempts with no contact. I became distracted (don't remember by what) and forgot to keep trying. Approximately 50 mi east of buf I noticed it was and had been very quiet -- remembered I hadn't pursued the no contact, and pulled ATC frequency off the charts. The correct frequency should have been 127.47, not .17. I have no excuse for not staying on task and should have not put the microphone down 'til I had contact with ATC. It was a beautiful slow saturday morning and I simply got complacent. My apologies for the extra work for ATC.
