Narrative:

Jun/xx/98, PA28-200, XA10L, fll. I was en route from myls (stella maris) in the bahamas, cruising at 10500 ft. Passing mybs (bimini), I noticed that I was losing oil pressure and engine was close to red line. I was on flight following with ZMA and informed them of my situation. As I was holding higher altitude in case engine seized and I could glide to the beach. There was a thunderstorm between the airport and me. I was cleared for runway 9R. At about 3 mi southeast of airport I was entering on the 45 degrees when oil pressure light came on and the propeller was going in and out of pitch, I decided and asked for runway 31. I was scared that the engine would quit and in the confusion forgot to put the gear down. Checklist. Checklist. Checklist. Addendum, the automatic extend mechanism had been overridden by the previous pilot/instructor. This was discovered post-incident.
