Narrative:

Dfw departure control, dfw 220 degree radial, 4 DME. On takeoff out of dfw on runway 18L, we were told by departure control to turn to a 250 degree heading. The captain was flying and I was working the radios. We thought we heard the controller say 350 degree heading for the north departure to okc. The departure controller was very busy and we had just had a bird strike on the center window. The controller caught our error as we turned through 280 degrees and had us momentarily level at 8000 ft. He said it was no problem and we continued without incident.
