Narrative:

I intended to taxi from the military ramp at the west end of the airport to an FBO at the east end where the military aircraft was to be left for a 100 hour inspection. I became distracted by radio traffic on the military FM radio and forgot to get a clearance from ground to enter the taxiway. After turning onto the taxiway and traveling approximately 100 ft I noticed the error and contacted saf ground (tower) for the clearance. There were no conflicts with other traffic and the rest of the taxi was uneventful. Had I only turned on the avionics necessary for the taxi I wouldn't have been distracted and the incident would not have occurred.

Title: PLT OF A C182 ENTERED CTLED TXWY WITHOUT CONTACTING TWR FOR CLRNC. HOWEVER, PLT DID OBTAIN CLRNC WITHIN 100 FT AFTER ENTERING THE TXWY WITH NO APPARENT CONFLICT.

Narrative: I INTENDED TO TAXI FROM THE MIL RAMP AT THE W END OF THE ARPT TO AN FBO AT THE E END WHERE THE MIL ACFT WAS TO BE LEFT FOR A 100 HR INSPECTION. I BECAME DISTRACTED BY RADIO TFC ON THE MIL FM RADIO AND FORGOT TO GET A CLRNC FROM GND TO ENTER THE TXWY. AFTER TURNING ONTO THE TXWY AND TRAVELING APPROX 100 FT I NOTICED THE ERROR AND CONTACTED SAF GND (TWR) FOR THE CLRNC. THERE WERE NO CONFLICTS WITH OTHER TFC AND THE REST OF THE TAXI WAS UNEVENTFUL. HAD I ONLY TURNED ON THE AVIONICS NECESSARY FOR THE TAXI I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN DISTRACTED AND THE INCIDENT WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED.
