Narrative:

Was being vectored for ILS approach and had been cleared to 3000 ft from 5000 ft and was called and told to stop at 4000 ft and the autoplt did not capture altitude. At the same time I hit turbulence, control called and said to get back to 4000 ft because of traffic at 3000 ft. I climbed back to 4000 ft and hand-flew the rest of the approach. The aircraft and autoplt will be sent to maintenance.
