Narrative:

I began flight instruction again on a part time basis. A well-to-do gentleman is getting his private certificate and went out and bought a 1998 bonanza. He needs a certain amount of dual time to meet the insurance requirements. I was PIC. I filed an IFR flight plan from mxc to mem. The owner was showing his new airplane and I didn't pay attention to the time. As we took off and climbed out, I called ord to pick up our clearance. I had departed 5 mins after my void time. Controller wasn't too happy and neither was I. A cpr falcon 100 was departing laf at approximately the same time although I don't think we were conflicting.
