Narrative:

Near ord VOR heading west, descending to 5000 ft. There were scattered rain showers in the area, no large cells. We were in rain that was less than moderate. At 6000 ft afl the radio altimeter showed 2500 ft and decreasing. We got a terrain warning and executed an escape to 8500 ft. The radio altimeter was in error.
