Narrative:

Air carrier flight bb departed yip at XX06Z on the willow run departure to tycob intersection. Vectors from detroit departure were to fly outbound on the dtl 094 degree radial. We were handed off to cleveland and told to expect further clearance from them. Air carrier bb checked in with cleveland, identing '094 degree radial assigned.' ZOB was busy with several other aircraft in other sectors as well. At about XX35 cleveland called asking if we were on course and we answered that we were. A few moments later they called again, saying that they showed us to the right of course, whereupon the captain (flying) picked up the microphone and told them that '094 degrees was our last assigned heading.' center said 'direct to jhw, then on course as filed.' both detroit and cleveland ctrs were working at moderate levels. Controllers and pilots are all interested in working together, and personally I have great respect for ATC personnel. It seems not uncommon that once in a while 1 center might not pass along to the next an amended route. Fortunately, the checks built into the system, and the good people on both sides made this a smooth and uneventful transition. Human interaction was very cooperative and shows the benefits of CRM and ATC training.

Title: AN L188 DEPARTING FROM YIP CLBS EBOUND ON A HEADING GIVEN PREVIOUSLY BY ZOB. ZOB THEN NOTICES A NAV DEV AND CALLS THE L188 TO ASSURE THEY ARE GOING DIRECT JHW. THE ACR DIDN'T HAVE THAT UNDERSTANDING, THE CALL FROM ZOB VERIFIED CLRNC FOR ALL.

Narrative: ACR FLT BB DEPARTED YIP AT XX06Z ON THE WILLOW RUN DEP TO TYCOB INTXN. VECTORS FROM DETROIT DEP WERE TO FLY OUTBOUND ON THE DTL 094 DEG RADIAL. WE WERE HANDED OFF TO CLEVELAND AND TOLD TO EXPECT FURTHER CLRNC FROM THEM. ACR BB CHKED IN WITH CLEVELAND, IDENTING '094 DEG RADIAL ASSIGNED.' ZOB WAS BUSY WITH SEVERAL OTHER ACFT IN OTHER SECTORS AS WELL. AT ABOUT XX35 CLEVELAND CALLED ASKING IF WE WERE ON COURSE AND WE ANSWERED THAT WE WERE. A FEW MOMENTS LATER THEY CALLED AGAIN, SAYING THAT THEY SHOWED US TO THE R OF COURSE, WHEREUPON THE CAPT (FLYING) PICKED UP THE MIKE AND TOLD THEM THAT '094 DEGS WAS OUR LAST ASSIGNED HEADING.' CTR SAID 'DIRECT TO JHW, THEN ON COURSE AS FILED.' BOTH DETROIT AND CLEVELAND CTRS WERE WORKING AT MODERATE LEVELS. CTLRS AND PLTS ARE ALL INTERESTED IN WORKING TOGETHER, AND PERSONALLY I HAVE GREAT RESPECT FOR ATC PERSONNEL. IT SEEMS NOT UNCOMMON THAT ONCE IN A WHILE 1 CTR MIGHT NOT PASS ALONG TO THE NEXT AN AMENDED RTE. FORTUNATELY, THE CHKS BUILT INTO THE SYS, AND THE GOOD PEOPLE ON BOTH SIDES MADE THIS A SMOOTH AND UNEVENTFUL TRANSITION. HUMAN INTERACTION WAS VERY COOPERATIVE AND SHOWS THE BENEFITS OF CRM AND ATC TRAINING.
