Narrative:

After landing in fll a box was found leaking gasoline in the forward cargo hold. The box contained a motorized skateboard plus a 1 gallon can of gas. The box had been shipped as frozen food. The gas migrated to the east&east compartment. Approximately 1 gallon of gas leaked into aircraft. FAA, NTSB, fbi notified. Hopefully the passenger involved will be jailed and fined. Aircraft was depwred completely. Local hazmat team measured fumes in the aircraft and labeled it at explosive levels. Aircraft was towed to remote site where it was cleaned and inspected. This passenger should be arrested and put on tv as a warning to anyone else who would try something like this. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the passenger was arrested and is going through the court system. The reporter said the aircraft needed extensive work in the cargo compartments as the gasoline had drained under the floors and soaked the insulation blankets and these needed replacement. The reporter stated the lower interior belly area had to be washed with a special solution which also removed the corrosion protection and this had to be reapplied. The reporter said the aircraft had to be maintenance ferried to the overhaul base for the accomplishment of most of the work. The reporter said no gasoline smell was noted in the passenger cabin or cockpit in-flight and only on landing was a slight odor noted.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG IN FLL A BOX WAS FOUND LEAKING GASOLINE IN THE FORWARD CARGO HOLD. THE BOX CONTAINED A MOTORIZED SKATEBOARD PLUS A 1 GALLON CAN OF GAS. THE BOX HAD BEEN SHIPPED AS FROZEN FOOD. THE GAS MIGRATED TO THE E&E COMPARTMENT. APPROX 1 GALLON OF GAS LEAKED INTO ACFT. FAA, NTSB, FBI NOTIFIED. HOPEFULLY THE PAX INVOLVED WILL BE JAILED AND FINED. ACFT WAS DEPWRED COMPLETELY. LCL HAZMAT TEAM MEASURED FUMES IN THE ACFT AND LABELED IT AT EXPLOSIVE LEVELS. ACFT WAS TOWED TO REMOTE SITE WHERE IT WAS CLEANED AND INSPECTED. THIS PAX SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND PUT ON TV AS A WARNING TO ANYONE ELSE WHO WOULD TRY SOMETHING LIKE THIS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE PAX WAS ARRESTED AND IS GOING THROUGH THE COURT SYS. THE RPTR SAID THE ACFT NEEDED EXTENSIVE WORK IN THE CARGO COMPARTMENTS AS THE GASOLINE HAD DRAINED UNDER THE FLOORS AND SOAKED THE INSULATION BLANKETS AND THESE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE RPTR STATED THE LOWER INTERIOR BELLY AREA HAD TO BE WASHED WITH A SPECIAL SOLUTION WHICH ALSO REMOVED THE CORROSION PROTECTION AND THIS HAD TO BE REAPPLIED. THE RPTR SAID THE ACFT HAD TO BE MAINT FERRIED TO THE OVERHAUL BASE FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF MOST OF THE WORK. THE RPTR SAID NO GASOLINE SMELL WAS NOTED IN THE PAX CABIN OR COCKPIT INFLT AND ONLY ON LNDG WAS A SLIGHT ODOR NOTED.
