Narrative:

Taxiing with quartering tailwind, variable winds. Had elevator down and upwind aileron down. Gust came from about 90 degrees and blew wing up into about 30 degree bank. I applied power, rudder, and back control pressure to attempt a weathervane into wind. Propeller hit ground. No airframe damage.

Title: A C172 PVT PLT ATTEMPTS TO COUNTERACT THE FORCES OF A STRONG GUST AND SUFFERS A PROP STRIKE. PLT CITES THE NARROWNESS OF THE TXWY AS CONFINING AND PARTLY CAUSAL TO EVENT.
