Narrative:

15 aircraft on frequency. Several inbound to flo, overflts and departures (several). At least 3 aircraft being vectored to same runway. All communication lost due to position failure. Frequency and landline communications lost. Position at radar south has a past history of shorting out. Conflicts were avoided because of quick controller reaction. Position next to radar south was not being used at the time and was available with frequency and landline access.

Title: APCH CTLR AT FLO EXPERIENCED EQUIP FAILURE AND LOST ALL COM CAPABILITY WITH ACFT INCLUDING LANDLINES. THE CTLR MOVED TO THE NEXT POS TO RESUME ATC DUTIES. THE CTLR CLAIMS THIS PROB HAS OCCURRED BEFORE.
