Narrative:

Approach issued a turn to intercept localizer, a descent, an approach clearance and instructions to call tower at a fix on the approach (deana on ILS runway 9R). In complying with all the above, running landing checklist and monitoring spacing on B757 ahead on approach we failed to contact tower and landed without clearance. I have never liked 'future' clrncs such as this, ie, 'cleared for approach, contact tower over deana, good day.'
