Narrative:

Soon after takeoff from ont airport on the prado 5 departure, we experienced a pressurization problem. The airplane would not pressurize in the automatic mode. Things got busy in the cockpit. Running the checklist, talking to ATC, flying the airplane, and trying to correct the problem. We missed a turn on the departure and ended up 7 mi off course. The abnormal situation took too much of our attention and led to the deviation off course. We should also have advised ATC of the problem as soon as it happened.
