Narrative:

On approach to runway 4R, (tower 119.1) switched our runway to runway 4L, and said to contact tower 128.8. (128.8 is runway 4L tower frequency.) we switched frequency on communication #1 from 119.1 to 128.8 (in standby window) and attempted contact, unsuccessful. Traffic was in position on runway 4L. We switched to 119.1, (FLIP switch) tower said 'go around.' we executed a go around. #1 communication head for #1 communication had failed. Item was entered in maintenance log, maintenance was called on ground.
