Narrative:

During a scheduled flight from lga to btv we departed runway 22 in lga. During the climb the HSI mismatch message came up on the screen. Trying to resolve the problem we failed to make the turn at 2.5 mi to 070 degrees. Departure advised us of the missed turn at about 4 mi. Failure to delegate the responsibilities in the cockpit. The problem was caused by the steel beams that the runway is sitting on. Next time we will be more prepared. After we got to btv we discussed the problem and we realized that we did the most common mistake, failed to keep flying the aircraft. After the talk we just went over the scenario and practiced what we should have done. Supplemental information from acn 395752: runway 22 is not a normal runway for us to takeoff on so the lga 8 is not memorized.
