Narrative:

Very nervous student checking out in 690D commander. After takeoff pilot made 15 degree left turn for takeoff assigned heading. Turn was early and created conflict with a departing trainer. While looking for other traffic climbed 300 ft above assigned altitude. Instructor action -- level and descend aircraft. During climb out with 9000 ft MSL assigned, student flying, instructor called out 1000 ft to go, 500 ft to go, 100 ft to go. Student flew 300 ft above assigned altitude. Instructor leveled aircraft and descended to 9000 ft. During simulated emergency descent from FL210 with 10000 ft assigned. Instructor called 1000 ft to go, 500 ft to go, 100 ft to go. Attempted to level aircraft, but excessive descent rate caused another altitude bust. Instructor action was to level as soon as possible and cancel IFR. Student did not pass.
