Narrative:

At time XX45 on feb/fri/98, at naples municipal airport, I landed on runway 14 and during landing rollout went past the end of the runway and into the grass by approximately 5 ft or less. I crossed the approach end of the runway at reference 'setting' plus approximately 10 KTS. I touched down shortly past the runway numbers and applied full braking action. With spoilers and full brakes the aircraft stopped shortly past the end of the runway in the grass. The runway was dry and WX was VFR. The runway was 5000 ft long. Later that day I did a weight and balance and found that I had landed naples with 500 pounds over maximum landing weight. I believe this weight caused the event. Prior to departing for naples I had left the weight and balance to the responsibility of the captain. Also, during approach I did not query the captain when I asked him for my reference setting and he told me 124 KTS (reference for maximum landing weight). A couple weeks earlier I had written a letter to my chief pilot complaining about a different captain who consistently lands and takes off over certified weights. After I refused to fly with this captain once when he told me we would takeoff over planned maximum landing weight I had a meeting with my chief pilot. My chief pilot told me not to make a fuss over weight and balance and to be quiet about it. He also told me that I was too cautious and that coplts are easier to replace than capts. This contributed to the event because since that conversation with my chief pilot I have not been questioning my capts' actions like I normally do, realizing I'd get fired for being a 'squeaky wheel.'

Title: FO OF AN LR25 RAN OFF END OF RWY DURING LNDG DUE TO HIGH LNDG SPD CAUSED BY THE ACFT BEING OVER MAX LNDG WT. FO COMPLAINS THAT IT IS A PRACTICE OF SOME COMPANY PLTS TO OPERATE OVER MAX WT LIMITATIONS.

Narrative: AT TIME XX45 ON FEB/FRI/98, AT NAPLES MUNICIPAL ARPT, I LANDED ON RWY 14 AND DURING LNDG ROLLOUT WENT PAST THE END OF THE RWY AND INTO THE GRASS BY APPROX 5 FT OR LESS. I CROSSED THE APCH END OF THE RWY AT REF 'SETTING' PLUS APPROX 10 KTS. I TOUCHED DOWN SHORTLY PAST THE RWY NUMBERS AND APPLIED FULL BRAKING ACTION. WITH SPOILERS AND FULL BRAKES THE ACFT STOPPED SHORTLY PAST THE END OF THE RWY IN THE GRASS. THE RWY WAS DRY AND WX WAS VFR. THE RWY WAS 5000 FT LONG. LATER THAT DAY I DID A WT AND BAL AND FOUND THAT I HAD LANDED NAPLES WITH 500 LBS OVER MAX LNDG WT. I BELIEVE THIS WT CAUSED THE EVENT. PRIOR TO DEPARTING FOR NAPLES I HAD LEFT THE WT AND BAL TO THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAPT. ALSO, DURING APCH I DID NOT QUERY THE CAPT WHEN I ASKED HIM FOR MY REF SETTING AND HE TOLD ME 124 KTS (REF FOR MAX LNDG WT). A COUPLE WKS EARLIER I HAD WRITTEN A LETTER TO MY CHIEF PLT COMPLAINING ABOUT A DIFFERENT CAPT WHO CONSISTENTLY LANDS AND TAKES OFF OVER CERTIFIED WTS. AFTER I REFUSED TO FLY WITH THIS CAPT ONCE WHEN HE TOLD ME WE WOULD TKOF OVER PLANNED MAX LNDG WT I HAD A MEETING WITH MY CHIEF PLT. MY CHIEF PLT TOLD ME NOT TO MAKE A FUSS OVER WT AND BAL AND TO BE QUIET ABOUT IT. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT I WAS TOO CAUTIOUS AND THAT COPLTS ARE EASIER TO REPLACE THAN CAPTS. THIS CONTRIBUTED TO THE EVENT BECAUSE SINCE THAT CONVERSATION WITH MY CHIEF PLT I HAVE NOT BEEN QUESTIONING MY CAPTS' ACTIONS LIKE I NORMALLY DO, REALIZING I'D GET FIRED FOR BEING A 'SQUEAKY WHEEL.'
