Narrative:

Aircraft autoplt was written up previous day going into sat for popping roll circuit breaker. Company was informed. Aircraft returned to atl next day. We were scheduled to take aircraft to bdl and back. Had a 3/4 full passenger load with full meal service scheduled. Called dispatcher to request that autoplt be repaired. He agreed and got maintenance on it for repair or replacement aircraft. At first, mechanics seemed reluctant but when I said it was necessary for flight, they found loose cannon plug, reseated it, and released aircraft for flight.
