Narrative:
We were cruising on J165 between chs and ric at FL330. At 160 mi south of ric VOR ZDC gave us a clearance to cross 90 mi south of the ric VOR at FL270. I elected to delay the descent in the interest of fuel conservation. I began the descent too late to make the crossing restr and we were subsequently reissued a clearance to descend to FL270 by ZDC (frequency 132.22). When I finished the descent, we were level at FL270, 75 mi south of ric for.
