Narrative:

Told to taxi to runway 36L via taxiway F from spot X. Due to position confusion and reading signage incorrectly, we taxied on taxiway east. There were no ground conflicts created but controller was irate because of our error. We made transition to correct taxiway at taxiway M. No further incident.
