Narrative:

On heatt arrival were informed WX had closed the arrival. We were vectored south, began looking at fuel. Were given direct freeport to depart 180 degrees. Were told vector would be approximately 3 mins. Fuel still ok. Asked again how long and were told 20 mi. We decided that was our limit. As that came up, we asked and were told 30 more mi. Said we wanted to divert to fll. Were given turn and clearance. Winds were strong, so we declared minimum fuel to prevent additional vectoring. ATC then offered us mia (which was slightly closer) with no delays -- we accepted. It became apparent we would be slightly below reserve fuel on landing, so we declared emergency for fuel. ATC then offered landing runway 27R which we again accepted. We landed without incident slightly below reserve fuel.
