Narrative:

Departed dtw. Received gear unsafe indication (3 red lights) upon gear retraction. Departed dtw metropolitan area and proceeded to lan to troubleshoot and follow company procedures. Lowered landing gear and observed 3 green and normal gear door operations. Landed lan. No unusual experiences. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was ferried from lan to dtw gear down and maintenance found the landing gear control lever switch malfunctioning and replaced the switch.

Title: A DC9-50 IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF AND GEAR RETRACTION DIVERTED DUE TO 3 RED GEAR UNSAFE LIGHTS CAUSED BY AN INTERMITTENT LNDG GEAR CTL LEVER SWITCH.

Narrative: DEPARTED DTW. RECEIVED GEAR UNSAFE INDICATION (3 RED LIGHTS) UPON GEAR RETRACTION. DEPARTED DTW METRO AREA AND PROCEEDED TO LAN TO TROUBLESHOOT AND FOLLOW COMPANY PROCS. LOWERED LNDG GEAR AND OBSERVED 3 GREEN AND NORMAL GEAR DOOR OPS. LANDED LAN. NO UNUSUAL EXPERIENCES. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS FERRIED FROM LAN TO DTW GEAR DOWN AND MAINT FOUND THE LNDG GEAR CTL LEVER SWITCH MALFUNCTIONING AND REPLACED THE SWITCH.
