Narrative:

Providence tower, located in warwick, ri, is a combined facility, where controllers work both the approach control (radar) and the control tower position. I was assigned to the tower, and was working local and ground control. The WX was VFR with good visibility beneath a high overcast. The runways were clean and dry. Traffic was moderate. Providence is a level 4 facility, and has a mix of air carrier, air taxi, and GA aircraft. There are 2 runways, 5/23 and 16/34. The wind was 280 degrees 10 KTS, which accommodates lndgs on both runways 34 and 23. Flight school traffic was doing touch and goes on runway 23 in a C152, when an arriving air taxi approach from the southeast. I decided to use landing and hold short operations, and have the arrival from the southeast land on runway 34 and hold short of runway 23. The runway 34 arrival was issued hold short instructions, and traffic information, and traffic was exchanged to the touch and go cessna. I quickly checked the facility order for lahso (hold short operations) to ensure that a C206 was listed as an approved aircraft for this hold short operation. Sure enough, C206 needs 2600 ft of runway landing distance and runway 34 has 2800 ft available prior to the crossing runway 23. The aircraft landed, held short for the touch and go, and taxied to parking without incident. About 15 mins later, this scenario repeated itself when a VFR cherokee inbound from the north landed on runway 23, and another air taxi from the southeast (same company and aircraft type) landed on runway 34 to hold short of runway 23. After the air taxi landed and was holding, I realized that his type aircraft was a C208, not a C206. Recking the facility lahso order I realized that a C208 needs 3000 ft of landing runway and was not listed as approved on our order. Fortunately, the C208 was stopped on the runway holding short of runway 23, prior to the cherokee crossing the threshold of runway 23, therefore, no operational error. I then asked the pilot if some of his company aircraft were C206's, but he told me they were all C208's. In the future I will be doubly sure to check aircraft types more carefully before approving any hold short instructions.

Title: ATCT LCL CTLR MISAPPLIED THE LAND AND HOLD SHORT PROC CONTAINED IN A FACILITY ORDER. RPTR HAD THOUGHT THE ATX ACFT INVOLVED WAS A C206 WHEN IT WAS A C208. NO SEPARATION WAS LOST, SO NOT CONSIDERED AN OPERROR.

Narrative: PROVIDENCE TWR, LOCATED IN WARWICK, RI, IS A COMBINED FACILITY, WHERE CTLRS WORK BOTH THE APCH CTL (RADAR) AND THE CTL TWR POS. I WAS ASSIGNED TO THE TWR, AND WAS WORKING LCL AND GND CTL. THE WX WAS VFR WITH GOOD VISIBILITY BENEATH A HIGH OVCST. THE RWYS WERE CLEAN AND DRY. TFC WAS MODERATE. PROVIDENCE IS A LEVEL 4 FACILITY, AND HAS A MIX OF ACR, AIR TAXI, AND GA ACFT. THERE ARE 2 RWYS, 5/23 AND 16/34. THE WIND WAS 280 DEGS 10 KTS, WHICH ACCOMMODATES LNDGS ON BOTH RWYS 34 AND 23. FLT SCHOOL TFC WAS DOING TOUCH AND GOES ON RWY 23 IN A C152, WHEN AN ARRIVING AIR TAXI APCH FROM THE SE. I DECIDED TO USE LNDG AND HOLD SHORT OPS, AND HAVE THE ARR FROM THE SE LAND ON RWY 34 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23. THE RWY 34 ARR WAS ISSUED HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS, AND TFC INFO, AND TFC WAS EXCHANGED TO THE TOUCH AND GO CESSNA. I QUICKLY CHKED THE FACILITY ORDER FOR LAHSO (HOLD SHORT OPS) TO ENSURE THAT A C206 WAS LISTED AS AN APPROVED ACFT FOR THIS HOLD SHORT OP. SURE ENOUGH, C206 NEEDS 2600 FT OF RWY LNDG DISTANCE AND RWY 34 HAS 2800 FT AVAILABLE PRIOR TO THE XING RWY 23. THE ACFT LANDED, HELD SHORT FOR THE TOUCH AND GO, AND TAXIED TO PARKING WITHOUT INCIDENT. ABOUT 15 MINS LATER, THIS SCENARIO REPEATED ITSELF WHEN A VFR CHEROKEE INBOUND FROM THE N LANDED ON RWY 23, AND ANOTHER AIR TAXI FROM THE SE (SAME COMPANY AND ACFT TYPE) LANDED ON RWY 34 TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23. AFTER THE AIR TAXI LANDED AND WAS HOLDING, I REALIZED THAT HIS TYPE ACFT WAS A C208, NOT A C206. RECKING THE FACILITY LAHSO ORDER I REALIZED THAT A C208 NEEDS 3000 FT OF LNDG RWY AND WAS NOT LISTED AS APPROVED ON OUR ORDER. FORTUNATELY, THE C208 WAS STOPPED ON THE RWY HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 23, PRIOR TO THE CHEROKEE XING THE THRESHOLD OF RWY 23, THEREFORE, NO OPERROR. I THEN ASKED THE PLT IF SOME OF HIS COMPANY ACFT WERE C206'S, BUT HE TOLD ME THEY WERE ALL C208'S. IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE DOUBLY SURE TO CHK ACFT TYPES MORE CAREFULLY BEFORE APPROVING ANY HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS.
